Friarylaw ADR is a Dublin-based full service ADR provider that provides in conjunction with ADR Group alternative dispute resolution (‘ADR’) services in Ireland. Training and education are central features of Friarylaw’s mediation service provision, both for mediators and parties engaging in the process. The practical application of mediation techniques is at the core of the Friarylaw & ADR Group training and accreditation approach.
The Friarylaw & ADR Group Education, Training and Accreditation Programme is staged over four days (the fourth day a video recorded simulated mediation, plus up to a further two days of independent learning in a four week period post-programme, where candidates submit coursework for review by ADR Group). On completion of the training programme and the written coursework, the successful candidate will be a qualified Accredited Mediator and one of our panellists. The four day Friarylaw & ADR Group training and accreditation programme involves intensive education and role play, culminating in a formal assessment for accreditation on the afternoon of the final day.
The course and training are provided by experienced mediators. The primary goal of the course is to equip delegates with the essential practical skills required in mediation. On successful completion of the course, delegates will be accredited mediators with Friarylaw, who are one of the six accredited bodies under the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004 and the Multi-Unit Developments Act 2011, and ADR Group in the UK, the premier mediation trainers in the British Isles.
On the successful completion of the programme newly accredited Mediators are invited to join the Civil and Commercial Panel of Friarylaw MCM, the mediation case management arm of Friarylaw. Newly accredited Mediators are also entitled to join ADR Net in the UK. This course has been designed to comply with the proposed European standards on mediation. ADR Group was the first mediation provider to receive ISO:9002 accreditation.
Friarylaw have been accredited by the Minister for Justice under the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004 and under the Multi-Unit Developments Act 2011.
